Carbs, Please

My friend Joe McDonald is getting ready to run his first marathon. He’s asked me for some advice. He wants a good Italian restaurant not too far from his house near Nyack (though Westchester is OK) where he can load up on carbs the night before the marathon. He wants big portions and good food  in that order. I was thinking Pasta Cucina. Any other thoughts?

Rocco’s in New City. It’s great on both counts- portions and taste. The macaroni with meat or vodka sauce- both recommended!
I love Laguna in White Plains—

La Manda’s in White Plains is fabulous. Hardy, no frills, old fashioned italian food – Yum!
There’s a place on broadway. small lil italian place.
Roccos?! hmmm been there and i wouldnt call it great.
La Triestina on 9w is good. I really dont get macaroni when i go to an italian restaurant.. unless its something i dont make myself. Tony’s steak and seafood on hasting on the hudson has a great linguini and clam sauce (white) .. but if he really wants to carb up. he could go to a chinese restaurant and get lo mein or some white rice and gravy!
