Food Finds in the Lower Hudson Valley

Meat at a Fish Place

December
5

I got a tip from my food friend Marissa — whom you all met during our dueling blogs over the summer — that Joe DiMauro over at Mount Kisco Seafood was going to start selling meat.

Those of you who have been following my fish reports (I know, I’ve fallen off the wagon on those) know that Joe already offers extras: cheeses, produce, prepared foods … the works. He sells 80 to 100 prepared meals a week.

But there are times, Joe told me, that a guy will come in an order 5 lobsters and a bunch of clams, and say — “and I got one pain in the neck who doesn’t eat fish. Do know where I can get a steak?

So he hired Mike Palladino, a butcher from Banksville, and hopes to start selling meat — wagyu and American black angus, some from from Pineland Farms — on Saturday.

He’ll also make housemade sausage and freshly chopped meat, too, as well as poultry and pork.
