They were on main street. the food was good. but they didnt seem to get enough business. my issue was the buffet. Although, maybe not why you are talking about food. My husband traveled to Thailand a lot in the 70's. In a remote village he ordered a bowl of soup. He received the soup, dug in with his spoon, and the 1st thing to pop up was a huge eyeball looking straight at him! His early dining travels has cured him of being a carnivore... He is now a vegetarian. I on the other hand still eat almost anything. Never had one of "these" experiences. Please tell us, what happened in Thailand.
