Neil Ferguson, the opening chef de cuisine from Gordon Ramsay at the London in Manhattan, is the new chef at Monterverde at Oldstone Manor in Cortlandt Manor.

Here’s his bio from the PR folks over at Bullfrog & Baum:

“A native of England, Chef Ferguson’s culinary style is a culmination of his years of cooking in celebrated 3-star Michelin restaurants such as L’Arpege in Paris, L’Esperance in Burgundy and Gordon Ramsay in London. From his appetizer Garden Salad of Fruits, Vegetables, Herbs, and Pickled Chanterelles to his entrée of Moulard Duck Magret, Fondant Potatoes and Caramelized Endive, Ferguson fully utilizes the generous bounty of the Hudson River Valley when selecting dishes for the Monteverde Dining Room and The Chef’s Garden Tasting Menu. Ferguson’s modern American cuisine combines the highest quality ingredients with classic techniques and his international experience.”

Another bonus: Glenn Vogt, who has worked at Crabtree’s Kittle House, Xaviars and Beacon over the years and was the general manager of Windows on the World, has signed on as the executive director of operations.

Monteverde was build in 1760 by the Van Cortlandts. It’s on 29 acres on the river, and has the views to go with it. The owner, Richard H. Friedberg, bought it in 2005. It’s now a two-room inn that has a spa and yoga instruction as well as the restaurant and an outdoor grill.

Friedberg has already started adding four more rooms, and hopes to get approval to expand to a 40-room boutique hotel and spa, a 237-boat slip marina and 100 houses or condos that will be landscaped into the woods, overlooking the Hudson River.
