Food Finds in the Lower Hudson Valley

The News on the Joe Bastianich Property in Port Chester (You Know, Mario Batali’s Business Partner?)

August
31

As I’m working on our fall restaurant preview, I’m digging up some old leads to see what’s happened to them. One of them is the Tarry Lodge in Port Chester, which was purchased by Joe Bastianich, wine importer extraordinaire and business partner of superchef Mario Batali. Unfortunately, the news is that there’s no news yet. At least any news he wants to share. Bastianich’s assistant told me there are no plans for the space yet.

But we can always hope ….

And if anyone has any suggestions on new restaurants to include in the preview, please do let me know.

    Liz:

You should look into the new Inn and restaurant that Richard Gere purchased in either Bedford or Pound Ridge. There are so many new restaurants all poised to open in the next two to three months. Very exciting.

Absolutely. That is on my list, too. The restaurant is the old Hoppfield’s, I believe.

That’s the one. There are going to be two restaurants. A cafe in the Inn and the barn will be a restaurant.
