Live Blogging: New Gourmet Shop in White Plains

April
24

My colleague Ted Mann just e-mailed me pix from his iPhone of a new shop in White Plains called the Iron Tomato. I’ll let Ted take it from here:

TED: Stopped by that new market/cafe again and got the scoop. Upscale Italian market with fresh pasta and prepared foods. Owner: (liz deleted). Name: The Iron Tomato. Chef used to be at Valbella in Greenwich. (owner)’s a little cagey about anyone “reviewing” it, but let me look around and take pics for you. More to come.

Though the owner didn’t give me a firm date, he said the market/cafe should open in the next couple weeks.

Where in White Plains is this place located?

  3. Liz Johnson

Mamaroneck Avenue near the City Center. Right across the street from Mix It Up, where Ted was getting a salad for lunch.

Mix it Up is still there? Is it any good?

  5. Liz Johnson

I really like the food at Mix It Up, but I’ve had service issues there. They’re not the friendliest.
