Food Finds in the Lower Hudson Valley

Food Is Good

June
13

This just in from a reader:

I am sending you this email to give you a heads up about a new not your typical deli. It is called FOOD IS GOOD. It just opened about a month ago and is the talk of the town. It is owned by a young couple, one of which is a CIA graduate. They are so sweet and accomodating. The food is geared toward health. I have had some rally cool and unusual pasta salads, a salad with a watermelon vinagrette, brown rice , mushrooms and chicken, as well as a not so healthy potato knish, It was the best darn knish I ever tasted. I ought to know being brought up in the Bronx!!!!!!!  He makes fresh baked muffins. I had the plain yogurt mixed with honey, granola and fresh fruit parfait yesterday. It was delish. I am very impressed with them and I think that the people in the area would love to read about them.

I am hooked on their coffee. It is roasted locally by some guy in Yorktown. My favorite is The one called truely scrumptuous. I even purchased 3 pounds of it for home use.

Has anyone been? Do you like it?

Yes, their COFFEE IS EXCITING TOO. The coffee company is Bear Mountain Coffee Roasters. We love the Truly Scrumptious too. We think it’s the best coffee around hands down!
