I definitely plan to give it a try. I can’t tell if it is part of a chain, but there are other places around in SC with a very similar name, and logo, but just different enough to not run into trademark issues.

This place is great, they have the best BBQ ribs I’ve ever had. Their BBQ chicken and hot wings are also amazing. For a high quality download of their menu and other info, such as their specials check out their new official website at kickinchicken.weebly.com. I’ve been eating here since it opened about 6 months ago and have loved every thing I’ve ordered.

Alex – I was going there today, and there was no parking anywhere. Normally I would try to find something, but with 2 kids and pouring rain, I just drove by. Where do you park?

  5. Alex

If there’s no parking on the street you can park in the lot behind the nanuet hotel or the whistlestop bar

If there’s no parking on the street you can park in the lot behind the nanuet hotel or the whistlestop bar. And there is free delivery for orders of $15 or more

By far one of the best chicken and rib places around. All there stuff is great! The owner is always there and very plesant as well as the counter staff.

It’s not part of the chain down in SC, its independently owned and operated by a young local entrepreneur. Also, when i told the owner about this blog, he said he would give a special discount to anyone who says they heard about the place here. As i said earlier their new website is a little more detailed than their myspace.

    Liz,

I just called the restaurant and told them about your mention here. They were not aware.

Liz, I just called Kickin Chicken to determine the delivery area. I was hoping they’d deliver to Nyack/Valley Cottage area. They would if i didnt mind waiting.

I mentioned this blog post. They were unaware of it.

They gave me their new website address

    http://kickinchicken.weebly.com/

I will try them soon I think.

Sorry for the comment duplicate. The first didn’t post immediately and I rewrote it.

great place ate there 4 times last week 2 times so far this week ...i would have to say by far they have the best ribs in town ..thanks dave for having the best ribs town

I just ate there the other day, I tried the ribs, and wow were they fantastic. The two brothers there who told me they were the owners were incredibly down to earth, and told me the ribs would come right off the bone. I didn’t believe it at first because people always say they have good stuff, but when I tried it I was quick to realize they were dead on! The chicken with the BBQ sauce was also delicious. I read people had some problems with parking, but thats no problem because like someone posted here there is parking in the back at the nanuet hotel. Anyway for good food, and a lively, nice group of people I recommend this place!

Kickin Chicken has not only the best ribs, but the best wings. I go there every Thursday with my friends for “Wing Night”. It’s only 50 cents per wing from 6-8 on Thursdays. The place is fantastic!!!

this place is horrible. the conditions that they cook the food in are completely unsanitary. after getting a shop rite burger and not enough fries for nearly ten dollars, i decided never to go back again.

  16. June

oh yeah, and if you can’t tell, all of these reviews are written by people who work there…

Being a regular I never have gotten a “shoprite burger” and I have always been impressed with there burgers, they are big, juicy, fresh and cooked on a BBQ grill. I mentioned this in a prior post on another Liz blog regarding burgers. As for sanitary conditions I have never saw any potential problems.. I highly doubt that the staff has written prior reviews. I myself have reccomended this place to my friends and I know that they have enjoyed the food as much as I have. The place is not the biggest or the most modern but its deffinitly clean and they do have some of the best burgers, ribs, and wings in the area!

  18. Tim

It seems whoever wrote those two posts are the same person, who do you work for? I have been eating here for months and have never seen anything but spotless conditions and excellent food. those are definitely biased posts.

  19. Eddie

I’ve been there several times. The chicken and ribs are fantastic….potentially the best around, i haven’t eaten at many bbq places around here. The burgers are very good. the cheese steak was phenominal. Some of the best creamed spinch i’ve ever had. What i will say is i found the wings to not be good….if you want good wings go down the street to crossroads. Its a soul food hole in the wall place that i happen to love.

I’ve been eating at Kickin’ Chicken for a couple of months. They are definitely a restaurant in transition. He is working on the decor and the internals of the restaurant.

They do make great food. Dave, the owner, cooked up a rib for me to try one day, because I eating mostly chicken sandwiches like the “The Grand Slam”. The rib was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Nice and tender, and the sauce is very tasty. Today I got the Grand Slam sandwich and a quarter rack of ribs and it came with a couple pieces of pita bread. Both were excellent. The sandwiches are incredible. Nice red ripe tomatoes, crispy bacon, beautiful green lettuce, and soft, fresh rolls.

AND now they have a huge Coca-Cola soda cooler. Very high-tech looking thing. So they have a good supply of Coke and Coke products, Snapple, and other teas.

It definitely looks a lot better in there since June. He is working on it.

One thing that they need to improve is have change in the register. I guess a lot of people bring in twenties and they don’t seem to have the right change all the time. They need to improve on that.

    AND I DON’T work there!! :)
