Lunch with Liz: Good to Go in White Plains

July
3

Another of my favorite lunch places is Good to Go in White Plains. Most of the time, I stick with the chicken Caesar salad, which has a lovely dressing with just bit of a bite, big crunchy croutons and a dusting of parm.

Hard to see here, but some of the other salads are on display. I also love the caramelized pear salad, which comes with walnuts and gorgonzola.

They also have terrific sandwiches. Seriously, I’ve been ordering from here for years. Let me run down the list of great things I’ve eaten…

Grilled portobello salad with toasted walnuts, dried cranberries & gorgonzola over field greens

Grilled Breast of Chicken, Melted Monterey Jack Cheese, Avocado Cilantro mayonnaise on a Portuguese roll

Black Forest Ham, Melted Havarti Caramelized onions & dijon balsamic on a portuguese roll

Grilled Port0bello Mushrooms, Smoked Mozzarella, Sauteed Spinach Roasted peppers & pesto sauce on French baguette

Grilled Eggplant, Goat Cheese, Artichokes Kalamata olives & sundried tomato pesto on French baguette

Smoked Turkey, Melted Havarti & Cranberry Sauce on a Portuguese Roll

Sliced Roast Beef, Melted Cheddar Cheese, caramelized onions & horseradish mayonnaise on a Portuguese roll

And, a ceviche special that’s almost always on the blackboard. Everything — really everything — is terrific.

Plus, delivery is superfast and everyone is really nice, too. Or, you can eat at one of the few indoor (or sidewalk) tables:

I’ve also had their catered food… great for meetings, great for parties.

Good to Go, 279 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains. 914-683-1566.
